The Reason the Homeowner Called Mr. Roof Repair:
The homeowner noticed missing shingles on the roof.
The Problems We Found:
We inspected the entire roof surface. There were no missing shingles and the shingles were in good condition; there was no shifting or lifting.
There was one detailed shingle on the laminate that was glued on the second level that had come off. The Shingle was intact – no holes or damage and was still in perfect condition. The shingle was a 30 yr laminate and the colour was Weatherwood.

Removed all shingles from around the skylight. As well along the wall and where it meets the second story roof was redone also. Removed skylight from curb. Installed ice and water shield (water proof membrane) in entire area and up curb correctly. Roof cemented around the skylight curb. Installed skylight on curb. Nailed down flashing with nails. Roof cemented around flashing. Installed new shingles using roof cement and nails.

Below a skylight (approximately 6 ft below) there were missing shingles due to wind damage. This left exposed wood as there is no underlayment so water was hitting roof deck and pouring into home.
We replaced these shingles using chem caulking and nails so they won’t get lifted again in this area. We also double nailed each shingle tab and sealed around a furnace vent that was starting to leak due to no sealant.

Roof has visible signs of animal damage – looks like a raccoon tried to get into the roof and tore off shingles causing a water leak. We removed the broken shingles and roof cemented the entire area, then installed new shingles.
We also resealed the chimney flashing as sealant was starting to wear out which happens over time. Also resealed a bathroom exhaust vent.

Mr Roof Repair found there was a downspout that goes into the ground and there could be a clog down where it is supposed to drain in the ground. We cut the downspout and attached an elbow to redirect the water so it can flow freely away from the home.
We also Installed 110 ft gutter filter around the home as this will eliminate the build up of debris the eaves trough.

Repair Summary:
Mr Roof Repair re-roofed the area where the flat roof meets the shingled roof and installed a ridge vent.
We removed the shingles from the sloped area of roof and installed underlayment (water proof membrane). We then installed new shingles using roof cement and nails.
After installing the new shingles, we installed a 15 ft ridge vent. We removed the cap shingles and installed the ridge vent. Installed hip and ridge and cap shingles to complete repair.

Repair Summary:
Homeowner had a few pieces of aluminum fascia that had blown off the side of the house. We reattached one piece and replaced two other pieces. Double nailed the fascia every foot and a half to two feet.
On the opposite side (east side on same A Frame part) the existing fascia was re nailed in order to ensure it does not come loose. No other roof repairs were needed.

Upon arrival we found that there were a total of four turbine vents on roof. One is broken off and one is noisy and bent (metal inside is broken). Upon arrival Mr Roof Repair found that there was a chimney leak. There was no ice and water shield (underlayment) installed and chimney flashing sealant had deteriorated and was open in a few places.
We resealed the chimney flashing and resealed the shingles where they meet the chimney. We also sealed underneath the shingles sealed the laps and sealed some of the keys of the shingles around the chimney. We also sealed three attic vents and one three inch pipe flashing.

We then covered the wood with ice and water shield (water proof membrane) and installed new shingles using roof cement and nails.
