The Reason Homeowner Called Mr. Roof Repair:
Missing shingles were noticed at the back of the home
The Problems We Found:
The missing shingles (heatherblend 3 tab) were missing at the back of the home due to wind damage.
The Solution for the Roof:
We replaced the missing shingles and did a roof tune up which included: sealing vents, pipes and exposed nails. Roof is in good condition as are the shingles on the rest of the roof.

Shingle Damage

The Reason Homeowner Called Mr. Roof Repair:
Shingles were missing in several areas on the roof.
The Problems we Found:
We inspected the roof’s surface and discovered that the damage to the shingles was due to animals.
The Solution for the Roof:
We replaced six shingles and installed and sealed off an area towards the front where it appeared an animal was making a hole in the roof board. We then shingled the area.

Damaged Shingles

 
The Reason Homeowner Called Mr. Roof Repair:
Missing and damaged shingles were noticed.
The Problems We Found:
We inspected the roof surface and discovered there were shingles ripped apart in a large section on the back left side of the home.
The Solutions for the Roof:
We replaced 16 shingles in the large damaged section.  We inspected the rest of the roof and found no further damage from either wind or animals.

Animal Damage to Roof Shingles

Repair Summary:
Problem: Home had animal damage – raccoon damage – two dormers on right hand side third story. Where the dormers meet the steep part of roof is where the raccoon tore out the shingles.
Solution: Roof Repair Specialist informed customer that he did not have exact shade of shingle (driftwood) – homeowner said he did not care as can’t see it anyway. Installed dark brown shingles.
Informed homeowner of another problem around chimney where raccoons have caused damage – around the chimney on third story and the wall beside the chimney.

Wind Damaged Shingles

Repair Summary:
Problem: There were three sections with missing shingles most likely wind damage.
Solution: Our roof repair specialist removed the broken shingles and installed new shingles using roof cement and nails. Roof cement will hold down the shingles so they don’t blow away in future.
Other areas could still loose shingles in the future as roof was installed with no underlayment and no sealant.
A roof assessment was done and the rest of roof looks to be in good condition.

There was an ice dam and leak in the winter and now during the rain.
There is a leak into bathroom in front of the house. We also assessed the roof condition and advised if replacement was required to sell home or if he can get by because a home inspector will make a report.
Our roofing specialist noted this home has a very messy roof, and needs a roof replacement asap and they are selling house soon.

Photos show missing shingles in a couple locations caused by animal damage. Mr Roof Repair replaced the damaged shingles and fixed a slipping roof shingle to prevent further damage.

The roof vent was blown off during the wind storm. The winds were reported over 115kms per hour. The winds were so strong that it was able to blow the vent right off the roof leaving a hole in the roof. There were many shingles that were lifted from the wind as well and some even missing.
During our initial roof inspection we also noticed that the shingles were showing wear towards the valley. We were able to replace the roof vent and missing shingles. We recommend that the worn shingles …

Photos show animal damage done to specific areas of the roof and shingles around the hydro pole and vent.  Repairs included fixing the holes in the roof, installing metal screening to prevent further animal damage and repairing and replacing missing or damaged shingles.
