Why the Homeowner Called Mr. Roof Repair
We were called in because the roof was missing shingles and there was a leak in one of their bedrooms.
Solutions for the Roof:
During our inspection we discovered that there was a shingle missing on the front as well as others missing where the leak was, above the vent; wood was exposed.
The front 2 dormers had no venting and the homeowner indicated that this area had a lot of ice build up during the winter season.

We installed heating cables from third the story window down to the second story eaves down the downspout to the second story electrical outlet by the door.
We ran down the downspout twice and on second downspout that meets the neighbour – poked the heating cables down the downspout about a foot – did a wrap job around a gutter spike to keep neighbours ice from entering as the eaves trough is shared – so set it up so ice dams would not build up there. When screwing in sensor the …

The back of the house has ice damming above solarium
The roof was not installed correctly by original roofers. The customer had asked for a 4inch overlap over solarium and it was not done. The seals where the drip edge meets the solarium is worn out and leaking from the ice dam. The underlayment was only applied 3 foot above solarium and applied improperly. There is exposed wood (no underlayment) 3ft and higher above the solarium. Ice damming is pushing under these shingles as well as the shingles directly above solarium …

We cleared all snow from upper and lower roof of main house. W applied a special melting product around entire perimeter to help remove ice from ice damming.
We then applied a melting product on the valleys and around chimneys. We removed all the ice from eaves troughs.
On one small section of roof – lower octagon shape roof could only be salted – due to small trough and overhang of shingles this area could not have the ice chipped out without damaging the roof. This section represents only about 5% of …

The homeowner has cables on roof – half are in working order and half are not. The breaker needs to be on for “good” half to be working. Repair Specialist spoke with the homeowner and recommend that all the cables be removed at the same time and replaced in order to avoid future problems with the “second half” and homeowner agreed with this.
We removed the ice dams and all the cables. This was very difficult process – two rows in eaves trough as well as on roof.
We recommend that a …

During the inspections we found two problems – First, ice damming in eaves trough and second, the roof membrane is peeling off of the drip edge allowing water in from the ice dam as well as any other water from snow around perimeter of the flat roof. This is due to installers not applying primer to drip edge so did not adhere to drip edge. Flat roof is on the second story at the back of the house.
Some of the water is coming in due to the ice dam going …

The homeowner wanted the east and west side cleared out. The eaves trough was also filled with mud and debris which makes it more difficult to remove ice and a makes the job a more lengthy process.
There was major ice damming around the entire home. The eaves trough was filled with about 50% of this was mud and debris.
Day one was 5.5 hrs to remove ice from east and west eaves troughs – removed about 95% and added a melter to loosen the remaining little parts and will check on …

We removed all the snow and ice from the first story roof and then removed any ice damming from the first story roof (three sides of roof approximately 80 ft long).
We also removed ice dams from those 3 sides of eaves trough and installed a gutter filter on those three sides.
We applied calcium chloride around perimeter to remove loose bits of ice attached to shingles.
We will be returning to work on the top story to remove snow and ice damming and install gutter filter.

There was severe ice damming around entire home. The gutters are totally frozen over with ice above the trough level.
This home needs snow and ice removal as soon as possible. The snow is one to two feet deep in places and should be removed in order to avoid potential damage during a thaw.
This will take approximately 5 hours, possibly longer to complete the snow and ice removal on entire roof surface.

Homeowner has a few issues resulting in a leak in interior of home.
There is ice damming issues on the second story of house in the valley as well as to the side of the valley on second story. Original valley was installed incorrectly with no underlayment – no ice and water shield and no sealant. The water is crossing the valley going under the roof shingles on both sides and is leaking. The valley requires a permanent repair in order to ensure it is water tight and will not leak.
There …
