Springtime Roofing Tips
Springtime is here! You can say goodbye to your snow shovel for a few months and enjoy the warm weather. This is also the time of the year when you should inspect your roof to ensure that everything is still in good condition and working properly.
If you live in the snow belt you can be rest assured that ice and snow accumulated in your gutters during the winter months. In turn, the water may not have been able to drain properly which can cause it to seep under flashing and through shingles. While this should not be a problem if your roof was installed properly, you always want to check just to make sure. It is better to catch a problem like this on the outside. The last thing you need is water coming into your home.
While checking your roof, take the time to examine the gutters. Ice can buildup and pull-down gutters, while also causing damage to any shingles that may be located below. If you don’t make the proper repairs this spring, things are just going to get worse when next winter rolls around.
All in all, spring is the perfect time to inspect your roof.
