Shingle Replacement and Eaves Trough Inspection
The Reason the Homeowner Called Mr. Roof Repair:
We were called in due because some shingles near ridge of the roof had deteriorated and it was thought that there was a missing shingle in the valley, around the bottom of the home’s turret.
The Problems We Found:
Upon inspection we found that there were indeed several shingles along the ridge had deteriorated due to animals, namely birds, sitting and leaving droppings in this area.
The Solution for the Roof:
We replaced 8, 3 tab dual brown shingles, as well as 8 caps along the ridge.
We inspected the turret as requested for the missing shingle, however it was simply a shingle sitting on top of the valley which created an illusion that it was popping up. We nailed down this valley shingle and sealed for protection.
The homeowner had also asked about the eave trough in the corner in at the front of the garage. We checked the eaves and cleared the debris but the corner was intact and caulked properly.
Potential Problems:
The water is concentrated in the corner of the eaves trough as the water from the neighbours also flowed to this side to empty out. This could potentially cause overflow at a future date, due to volume of water in this area.
We inspected the rest of roof and found it to be in good condition and there were no other issues.
