Christmas Presents Nobody Wants!
No one likes to get hom
e from a hard day at work to find the pitter patter of dripping leaks. No one likes to wake up to a puddle on your bed that wasn’t from deep sleep drool. We are getting numerous calls right now from homeowners in a panic. Not to worry!
We recognize that your leak can be scary and frustrating. In worst case situations, roof leaks have started electrical fires, so if water is running near an electrical source, shut down the circuit breaker
Control Leakage – If water is “pooling or ballooning” on your ceiling, place a bucket beneath the area of concern and puncture a small hole in the ceiling to allow water to escape through a small opening. Once the majority of water has been released, wet a string and slip several inches into the hole you created and thumb tack the string to the ceiling. Run the string into a bucket. This should minimize future ceiling damage, control the water flow, and minimize the dripping noise.
Many leaks are caused by something small that is a relatively minor roof repair, so do not assume the worst. Many homeowners have said to themselves “oh no I have no money to replace my roof so I will not do anything”. This is the wrong attitude and could end up costing you more in the long run.
