What do I do When Water Leaks through My Roof Shingles?
- REPAIR PROCEDURE: PERMANENT SHINGLE REPAIR
Installed new step flashing underneath the siding.
Installed J Trim to ensure water runs off siding properly and to cover off gap between shingles and step flashing.
Removed one shingle all the way down to expose the wood – wall is approximately 25 feet in length.
Removed and re-installed the existing vent.
Found that there were three points of where water was leaking.
The first was through the vent

The Reason the Homeowner Called Mr. Roof Repair:
We were called because the homeowner found a leak after a severe rainfall. The leak was coming through the rafters down to first floor from directly above dormer valley on top of the main house.

The Reason the Homeowner Called Mr. Roof Repair:
We were called in due because some shingles near ridge of the roof had deteriorated and it was thought that there was a missing shingle in the valley, around the bottom of the home’s turret.
The Problems We Found:
Upon inspection we found that there were indeed several shingles along the ridge had deteriorated due to animals, namely birds, sitting and leaving droppings in this area.
The Solution for the Roof:
We replaced 8, 3 tab dual brown shingles, as well as 8 caps along the ridge.

The Reason the Homeowner Called in Mr. Roof Repair:
The homeowner called us in because their roof was missing shingles.
The Problems We Found::
We went up to inspect the roof and found that there were 3 missing shingles however there was no sign of water damage as the wood underneath was dry. We inspected the rest of the roof and found that there was a few other shingles that had lifted.

The Problems We Found:
The home was approximately 3 1/2 to 4 stories high in the back and therefore we had to access the roof from the front from atop the garage.
There were 2missing shingles and we also found loose shingles near the valley.
We inspected the rest of the roof and it was in good condition.
The Solution for the Roof:
Two shingles were replaced on back edge corner and the loose shingles were sealed with roof cement.
