Animal Shingle Damage

Our services were requested after homeowners noticed the shingles on their roof had lifted due to what they initially thought was wind damage. One area of damage had exposed a hole from an old pipe or vent that had been covered with a sheet of metal.  Upon further inspection, it was determined that the shingles were actually damaged by animals and not wind.  To begin repairs, the impaired shingles were removed, exposing the wood and hole with metal covering.  Roof Cement was then used to seal the entire area including …

Valley Repair

There is a leak in the roofing system originating from the valley. There is no ice and water shield (water proof membrane) installed and shingles were not sealed to valley, therefore water is crossing the valley from top to bottom and getting in under the shingle tabs.
The repair Specialist did a full attic inspection. We checked the insulation for the homeowner, but found this is a recent leak and the insulation has not yet been damaged. As well there is no wood rot at this time – only wood staining …

Flat Roof Repair

Problem: Deteriorating flat roof that was leaking
Solution: In order to complete the repair we used a tar adhesive due to roof being wet and in snow so we cannot use vapour glue. We then sealed underneath where the roof was coming off from the insulation and sealed membrane itself. It will take a while to cure.
The roofers then sealed this area with 4 inch framing nails to keep it from coming loose while curing.
Perimeter of roof is peeling off the drip edge and entire perimeter is leaking in periodic spots.

New Vent Installation

We opened up the vent area and we had to remove the plywood.
We added a piece of hose to reach the roof surface and attached it to a new vent, we replaced the plywood and then added the ice and water shield and shingled area around the new vent. The chimney flashing and caulking looks good but there were exposed nails and we had to seal it with entrna bond to prevent roof leaks.

Bathroom Vents Leaking

There is a roof vent leak on front domer in front of the house. There is also a rip around the vent through the ice and water shield area.  We installed a new vent along with new shingles and sealed around the vent to prevent any future leaks.
We recommend a new roof, this roof needs 2 layers. We also found that the pitch is too low which means a flat roof would be the best solution to prevent leakage.

Bathroom Vents Leaking

This home has a tar and gravel pitched roof. There is a roof vent that is in poor condition this is causing a leak. It leaked previously and started again recently, therefore the leak is coming from the vent and not the flat roof. We were able to repair the vent and reinstalled shingles around the vent and sealed it heavily. We did notice the bricks are deteriorating and gave the homeowners a referral to a local company, BJ Brickworks.
