Problem: All around the perimeter of house there was an opening between the eaves troughs and the end of the shingles. This allowed animals to get in to the attic, the home or in to the soffit.
Solution: In order to prevent animal entry and animal damage a metal drip edge was installed around the entire perimeter.
This will completely block squirrels, bees nest, racoons, etc.
This repair with drip edge will last the homeowner can reroof and never have to change drip edge again.

The homeowner had a downspout on the left side of the home (when facing home) that was clogged from leaves at top which helped it get heavy. It was also screwed into stucco which did not hold well. We reattached downspout together and attached securely into the stone as well as the PCB pipe that goes into the ground.
We recommend the eaves be cleaned out around entire home – the steeper roof which would need to be done by ladder.
Recommend 230 ft gutter filter be installed – also would be …

The roof or eavestrough is leaking into the house wetting the walls upstairs. It seems that it’s located right above back house door where the 2 roof sides meet.

We removed the ice dams and all the cables. This was very difficult process – two rows in eaves trough as well as on roof.
We recommend that a …

During the inspections we found two problems – First, ice damming in eaves trough and second, the roof membrane is peeling off of the drip edge allowing water in from the ice dam as well as any other water from snow around perimeter of the flat roof. This is due to installers not applying primer to drip edge so did not adhere to drip edge. Flat roof is on the second story at the back of the house.
Some of the water is coming in due to the ice dam going …

When a home or building experience a leak from an ice dam they can often travel through the fascia, soffit (the overhang) or down the exterior walls before entering the interior. If left untended, the result could be water damage that trickles inside the walls of the home as well. Homeowners need to look up as their roof is one of the most vulnerable areas.

During the winter, Torontonians are constantly clearing their driveways and walkways, but they overlook the snow and ice on their roofs.
By taking care of your roof during the winter, you can prevent leaks, and even fires.
In our climate, ice dams are a major cause of damage to roofs. Ice dams form when heat inside the home escapes into the attic and warms your roof deck (the boards or ply beneath your shingles). This heat, combined with heat of the sun, melts snow on the roof, which then runs down to …

While having their home undergo an eavestrough repair Toronto homeowners can also have their roof inspected for any leaks that have been troubling them. Finding the exact origin of the leak can get tricky but you can start with the flashing since majority of leaks start there. Because they are vulnerable to weather changes, flashings are the likely culprit, but they are also relatively easier to repair than the roof itself.
If the leak started there and you would have it changed, make sure that the new flashing will have enough …
