Repair Vent Leaks

There is an attic vent installed where there should have been a 6 inch exhaust vent installed – the incorrect vent was installed and was leaking. Also there was a tear in a shingle behind the vent.
Removed leaking attic vent and installed a 6 inch exhaust vent for the bathroom. Removed the broken shingle and installed a new one. Installed vent with chem caulking due to type of vent.
Also re nailed a 3 inch pipe flashing and resealed this as well. It was lifting due to wind.

Chimney Repair and Vent Reinstall

PERMANENT CHIMNEY REPAIR Removed shingles around chimney area. Installed ice and water shield. Installed new shingles using roof cement and nails followed by chem caulking.PART 3: REINSTALL AND SEAL ALL ROOF VENTS All vents on roof surface were properly reinstalled and sealed in order to ensure they are watertight.

Chimney Leak Repair

The home has a chimney leak. The flashing is the original flashing and was never sealed. Flashing is peeling off and has original caulking. Water was coming in around entire flashing. There was ice and water shield (water proof membrane) installed under the laminate shingles, however instead of going under flashing and nailing flashing down and sealing flashing to the shingles it was installed on top of the flashing. Animal Damage Around Chimney

Mr Roof Repair removed the shingles around chimney. Then installed an ice and water shield (water proof membrane).
We Installed new shingles around the chimney and up the wall.
We also replaced the shingles installed during initial repair with matching driftwood shingle.
Also sealed around an exhaust pipe on one of the dormers.

Shingle and Chimney Repairs from Animal Damage

Problem: The home had animal damage – raccoon damage – in two dormers on the right hand side of the third story. Where the dormers meet the steep part of roof is where the raccoon tore out the shingles.
Solution: Roof Repair Specialist informed customer that he did not have exact shade of shingle (driftwood) – homeowner said he did not care as can’t see it anyway. Installed dark brown shingles.

Flat Roof Repairs and Proper Vent Installation

Problem: Water was draining from downspout too close to the house.  The opening at the top of the chimney was exposed, and there was cracking in the flashing around the chimney. Bathroom and attic vents were leaking.  Flat roof was also leaking.
Solutions:  In order to deal with the water draining too close to the house, our roof specialist extended the downspout approximately 4-5 feet so water drains further from the house.  We did the same thing with another downspout at the back of the house.

Shingle Replacement Due To Wind Damage

Missing shingles at the back of the roof caused by wind damage.
Investigation: There is no underlayment membrane on roof and this is causing the shingles to start deteriorating and curl which then allows the wind blows to blow them off.
Solution: We applied roof cement over the decking – reinstalled shingles using nails – roof cemented the laps and reinstalled shingled so shingles have same color and will not look like a patch.
Resealed the chimney flashing that was starting to crack (sealant was cracking).

Chimney and Valley Repair

After starting to remove shingles it was discovered that all around the chimney was completly rotted out to the left in the area that goes into the valley and bottom of valley was rotted out as well. It was a bad design where water comes down valley and into the face of the chimney. Due to rotten wood and design the repair specialist decided to change the architectural design of the roof – redesigned so that water from the valley will bypass the chimney completely. Chimney and Pipe Flashing

We removed a 4” pipe flashing and replaced it with new pipe flashing using roof cement and nails. We also had to remove a 1” pipe flashing and installed new flashing and sealed it using roof cement and nails.
We then installed counter metal going around chimney and capped it off and closed it off with metal and seal it to ensure it was watertight.

Repair Summary:  There was a hole in thr roof near the vent that was caused by animal damage. We removed the surrounding shingles and damaged wood, replaced a 2 x 4 area of plywood, installed an ice and water shield, added a new vent installed and re-shingled the area.
